Manual install (ZXP)

Use this method if the Creative Cloud install isn't working for you.

   Download the CaptionX .zxp file

   Click the button below for your operating system to download the CaptionX extension file.

   Download and install ZXP Installer

   ZXP Installer is a free tool from aescripts.com. Download and install it on your computer — you only need to do this once.

   Get ZXP Installer (free)

   Open ZXP Installer and load CaptionX

   Open ZXP Installer, then drag your downloaded .zxp file into the window — or use File → Open and select the file. ZXP Installer will handle the rest.

   Restart Premiere Pro

   Fully quit and reopen Adobe Premiere Pro so it picks up the newly installed extension.

   Open CaptionX in Premiere Pro

   In Premiere Pro go to Window → Extensions and select CaptionX. If it doesn't appear, confirm ZXP Installer reported a successful install and try restarting again.
