Nepali captions in Final Cut Pro

Why editors are looking for Nepali subtitles

Final Cut Pro has no built-in caption generation, so Nepali subtitles need an external source before import. Indic scripts also require a compatible font loaded in the subtitle inspector — without it, characters may render as boxes in preview and in the final Share export. CaptionX is being built to produce Nepali SRT files that import cleanly into Final Cut Pro with correct character encoding.

Final Cut Pro renders Nepali characters when a compatible font is loaded in the subtitle inspector, but editors often discover rendering gaps during a QA pass after the timeline is largely finished. Switching fonts late in the project can change subtitle positioning and require re-checking affected clips.

CaptionX is being built to export Nepali subtitle files with UTF-8 encoding and correct character grouping so they render predictably in Final Cut Pro regardless of the project font. The aim is to reduce the font-troubleshooting step that currently adds time to Nepali caption workflows.
