Xhosa captions in Final Cut Pro

Why editors are looking for Xhosa subtitles

Final Cut Pro doesn't include automatic caption generation, so Xhosa subtitles typically start with an imported SRT file or manually entered titles. Once the file is imported into a subtitle role, editors still need to review timing, line length, and readability before the project is ready for the Share step. CaptionX is being built to produce correctly timed Xhosa SRT files so the Final Cut Pro import requires minimal cleanup.

Professional Final Cut Pro workflows often include a subtitle QA pass before Share — checking timing, line length, and spelling across the full subtitle track. For Xhosa content, that review takes longer when the source SRT has poor timing or inconsistent line breaks, since every problem needs to be fixed inside the subtitle clip inspector.

CaptionX is being built to generate Xhosa SRT files that are timing-corrected and import-ready for Final Cut Pro. The goal is to reduce the manual cleanup that typically follows an SRT import — so editors can add the subtitle role, review once, and move to the Share step without a full line-by-line QA pass.
