French captions for DaVinci Resolve

French captions in DaVinci Resolve

Why editors are looking for French subtitles

DaVinci Resolve editors working with French content typically build their subtitle track by importing an SRT file into the Edit page. Generating that SRT still requires either manual transcription or a separate captioning tool — and the result usually needs timing corrections before it's clean enough to deliver from the Deliver page. CaptionX for DaVinci Resolve transcribes French speech and adds the captions to your timeline, with no SRT file to prepare first.

DaVinci Resolve projects delivering with subtitles typically export them from the Deliver page as a sidecar SRT or as subtitle burn-in. For French content, the quality of the delivered subtitle track depends entirely on how well the imported SRT was prepared. Timing gaps, line-length issues, and wording errors in the source SRT all carry through to final delivery.

CaptionX for DaVinci Resolve transcribes French speech on our servers and shows you the transcript before anything is placed, so a wrong word is fixed once. It then adds the captions to your timeline as animated titles you can still edit, or as plain editable text. It works in the free version of DaVinci Resolve and is available now on Windows.

This page is for creators who want automatic French captions, styled subtitles, and a clean export-ready workflow in DaVinci Resolve. If that matches your workflow, download CaptionX for DaVinci Resolve above.
