DaVinci Resolve supports subtitle tracks for long-form projects, but it has no built-in speech recognition for Japanese — subtitles need an SRT file before they can be imported into the Edit page. CaptionX is being designed to generate Japanese SRT files where line breaks already follow natural phrase boundaries, so the DaVinci Resolve subtitle track requires minimal editing before delivery. The goal is a subtitle import that passes a professional QA review without requiring an editor to manually correct every clip in the Edit page.
