Hindi captions in DaVinci Resolve

Why editors are looking for Hindi subtitles

DaVinci Resolve renders Hindi subtitle text when the project font is set correctly in the subtitle inspector — but Indic script character coverage varies by font, and gaps can appear as blank boxes in the Deliver page output. Finding font issues after a colour grade is locked wastes time in a professional post workflow. CaptionX is being built to export Hindi subtitle files with consistent Unicode encoding so Resolve renders the script correctly from import.

Resolve's subtitle inspector allows per-style font selection, but Hindi editors sometimes work through an entire colour pass before discovering the project font doesn't fully support the Indic script. At that point, switching fonts can shift line lengths and affect subtitle positioning across the project — making earlier font validation important.

CaptionX is being built to export Hindi subtitle files with UTF-8 encoding and correct character grouping so font compatibility issues surface early — before colour grade is locked — and the Deliver page output renders the script correctly.
